Andorra
Andorra is a parliamentary principality, situated in the central part of the Pyrenees, between France and Spain.
It covers 468 square kilometres and has a population of 75.000 inhabitants. The countries own and official language is Catalan, although the inhabitants of Andorra speak Spanish and French, everyday in the tourist and service centres and customers can normally be attended to in English and other languages.
The altitude ranges from 838 m at the lowest point to 2942 m at the summit of the highest mountain (Comapedrosa peak).
The population is distributed in seven large centres corresponding to the seven territorial divisions or parishes. The capital, Andorra la Vella jointly with Escaldes -Engordany forms a populated metropolis.
Andorra's, unique geographic and historical status confers unexpected advantages. Trade and commerce are duty free and is no value -added tax .The visitors can find more than 1.500 shops open everyday of the year.
Andorra offers 2 skiable areas covering more than 7.200 acres/2.913 ha.: Grandvalira and Vallnord. Our ski season starts in December and is about 5 months long.
GRANDVALIRA provides an impressive 200 km of piste skiing and the latest high-tech lifts. The combined ski area between Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig and Soldeu El Tarter is the biggest resort in the Pyrenees.
VALLNORD is the result of the commercial merger of Pal-Arinsal Mountain Park and Ordino-Arcalís. They have joined to complement each other's offers of skiing and mountain leisure. It will surprise you with excellent runs trough the trees.
Andorra offers a fine combination of good skiing, quality shops, cosy restaurants, and luxury hotels. There are a variety of things to do such as sightseeing, nightlife and a range of cultural activities.
